Step by Step Instructions

1 First select the Spellbinder D-Lites vines of passion die, the Just Rite secret garden stamp plate along with the Heartfelt Creations recovery wishes stamp plate. Also select the silver taffeta ribbon & some distress dabbers to create the project.

11Select the flower from the heartfelt creations stamp plate and the dusty concord & brushed pewter distress stain dabbers. The stains will be used to add colour to the flowers made using the ribbon.

2 2

3 Take the secret garden stamp still on the stamp plate or add it to a large acrylic block if you have one. Ink it up using the clear & resist ink pad or a perfect medium ink pad.

3

3Lay the coconut card over the stamp making sure you don`t move the paper around as this will make a shadow effect on the finished results.

4 4

5 Either use your hands or a brayer to press over the card or if not use the lid side of the ink pad & press the paper down onto the image. This will give an even impression all over the paper.

5 5

6 Tip the true white Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder over the clear ink. Tip the excess powder back into the pot.

66

7 Use a heat tool to set the embossing powder.  Repeat the process on the other end of the card as this will be needed later on.

78 Depending on the look you are after one way of adding colour to the piece is to swipe the distress stain dabber directly  over the embossed area.

88

9 To add shade to the piece then go back in & add more colour to the bottom of the flowers. This will darken the area and give depth to the piece.

9910 Take a grime boss or kitchen towelling and wipe gently across the top of the embossed are to clean up any excess ink.

10

 10

11 Alternatively take a distress ink pad & swipe that directly over the embossed piece. This will give a great cover but will leave some white areas as it is harder for the ink to get into the edges of the stamped area.

111112 To rectify this take a piece of cut`n`dry foam & add some of the distress ink to the foam and work the ink into the corners of the piece.

12 12

13 You can also add some of the distress markers around the top areas of the flowers to add depth.

13 13

14 Work some of the distress ink to the edges of the card & also make a wider edge on the longer side on one of the pieces of card as this will be used to join the card together.

141415 Add a line of wonder tape along the edge of the panel. Wrap the tape around to the back of the card and secure the ribbon to the back of the card.

1515

16 Press the ribbon down on the front of the card to make the first of the ruffles. This 1st step is important to get a nice feel to the piece.

161617 Continue to pleat the ribbon onto the tape to create the ruffle effect. Finish the ribbon on the back of the card for a neat finish.

1717

18 Join the 2 piece of card together to create a nice size panel. Either use some Cosmic Shimmer glue or some tape to stick the pieces together.

181819 This technique is to go with the flowers that are going to be made using Sue Wilson STUNNING flower video. Take some of the ribbon & cut it into a circle. Cut slits into the circle & heat set the edges with a heat tool to seal the edges.

1919

20 Also make some of the Sue flowers. Click on her website ~ Particraft.blogspot.com for the tutorial. Here some Cosmic Shimmer has been used to add some of the colour into the project.

202021 Also add a touch of the dusty concord ink to build the colours of the project.

21 21

22 Pierce a hole through 4 of the flowers & join the petals together using a small brad.

222223 Here is the completed flower. Make 2 of the Sue ribbon  flowers by cutting the ribbon in half lengthways & then cutting them to make smaller flowers.

23 23

24 Add the heart & filigree heart onto a piece of white card & cut them through a Grand Calibur machine.

2424

25 Cutting a very detailed die in the centre of the die cutting machine will often not cut all of the shape 100% , so turn the shape towards the side of the plate where the most pressure is & pass the die through the machine again.

252526 Once this is done you`ll see the shape detail appear. Now place the heart outer shape around the die if you want the full die shape cut out.

26 26

27 Then run the piece through the Grand Calibur again using the tan mat & pink embossing plate to emboss the heart.

27 27

28 Now you`ll have a solid heart along with the filigree heart piece.

2828

29 To emboss the heart place some Cosmic Shimmer clear ultra thick embossing crystals into the melting pot. Add a small amount of silver shine & tropic violet UTEE.

292930 Place the lid over the melting pot & allow the crystals to melt. Once done swirl the colours together to form a nice marbled effect.

30 30

31 Dip the heart into the molten liquid making sure you use a non stick tool. Here an old scoring tool fits nicely in the filigree area. Allow the excess to drip off but try & keep half of the heart with UTEE in the filigree areas for a glazed look. Please on a mat once it`s cooled.

313132 Distress the edges of the solid heart using some dusty concord on the a piece of cut`n`dry foam.

32 32

33 Stamp the flower image onto a piece of coconut or white card using the clear & resist ink pad ( or perfect medium ) & then add silver shine embossing powder over the top. Heat set the images before cutting around each set of flowers.

3333

34 Also stamp & emboss the `Instead of a gem` sentiment using the same ink & embossing powder. Trim the piece or cut the sentiment using a Spellbinder die shape.

343435 Either distress the edges of the sentiment or run the distress marker around the edge of the card to take away the white edge.

3535

36 Add the sentiment to the corner of the card. Mount the worked panel onto a piece of silver or platinum card & then add to a white base card. Arrange the flowers to the side of the ruffle ribbon.

363637 Arrange the distressed flowers into the back of the heart & then secure the heart over the top to finish the card.

373738 Here is a close up of the glazed heart which has a lovely domed effect to it.
