Step by Step Instructions
Select the Heartfelt Creations burnished key hole pre cut stamp set & the Heartfelt Creations antiquity collection paper pad along with the Cosmic Shimmer delicate plum crystal colour drops.
Take a piece of white or cream card & swipe the old paper distress ink pad directly over the card. Make sure the card is flat on a work surface as it will pick up and make marks from anything below.
Remove the paper backing from the key hole stamp & mount it onto an acrylic block. Ink the stamp using the black archival ink pad.
Stamp the image over the old paper covered card. Allow to dry or for speed dry the image using a heat tool.
Add some clear ultra thick embossing crystals into a melting pot. Place the dial to UTEE setting & place the lid over the pot & allow the powder to melt for a few minutes.
Add 4 or 5 droplets of the Cosmic Shimmer delicate plum crystal colour drops & stir them into the molten liquid using the non stick spatula.
Cut around the key panel & then distress the edges using some walnut stain ink on a piece of cut`n`dry foam.
Take the piece & hold the piece with some long handle tweezers and dip up to the rectangle line of the door panel. Try get the side & end in one go. Let it cool before turning the piece and dipping the other end & side piece. This will give a smooth finish.
Have some fun & make your own clear / coloured UTEE dots. Drip the UTEE off the end of the spatula onto a non stick mat.
There will be some perfectly formed dots & just melt down any remaining unwanted UTEE.
If there is any areas of build up UTEE on the corner where the piece has been dipped then take a heat tool & melt down the area to smooth it out.
Take the panel & curve the piece to create a nice dip towards the edges. This will cover up any foam tape used later on.
Now stamp the door panel out onto the old paper covered card. You will only need the rectangle inner section along with 2 circles from the stamp. So don`t worry if all the area of stamp isn`t clear.
Go in with some walnut stain distress ink on a piece of cut`n`dry foam to add shading & depth to the panel.
Cut out the full rectangle, a full circle & a smaller inner flower circle. Now cut just outside the small inner circle to get another decoupage layer as this will be unseen later on.
Select 2 of the 4″ square panels from the paper pad. The pretty piece with the white butterfly in the corner is being used for a focal point. Also next is a neat little trick for making the most out of your paper.
To get 2 pieces of paper matted onto the same card, cut the excess middle off the paper that won`t be seen under the top layer of mat.
Stick the paper onto the card leaving a small border around the bottom & side edge of the paper. Trim a little border at the top ends of the L shape before sticking the 2nd full panel onto the card.
Cut around the butterfly panel leaving a small edge. Now take a piece of the paper with the black lace edging. Trim roughly around the beige design & cut the base panel of paper with the hallmark in the bottom right hand corner to 9″ wide x 8″ deep. Mount paper onto a piece of deep red or burgundy card.
Stick the lace panel down the edge of the card trim away the excess along the top. Here you can see the effect of adding the 2nd piece of card behind the top mount & as well as saving paper you will get the mats onto one piece of card.
Take a piece of guipure lace & distress it using some of the walnut stain ink.
Add the lace to the top section of the card behind the topper & the edge of the card. Tie a double bow in the thin ribbon & glue 2 key charms below the bow.
Depending on the look wanted & the room available on the card, choose whether you just want a border along the bottom of the card or to the bottom & the side of the topper ? Now add the 3 UTEE pieces to the corner of the topper using dries clear glue to finish & unify the card design.
Add a sentiment to the top corner of the card & cut a small daisy from the paper pad & add over the knot of the bow.
Stack the elements of the door up using foam tape for added dimension. The keys have been stuck using the Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue. This is a strong glue so use a little & after a minute or so you`ll find the glue has stuck the embellishments down strongly. Great for posting an item and making sure the embellishment is still in place the other end.
Here is the completed card. Depending on the person you are sending it too you may wish to add flower embellishments to the card or maybe decoupage a few butterflies to complete the look ~ Happy Crafting.
