This project uses the stamped shabby chic frame and has been coloured in using the Tim Holtz distress markers and a water pen for a soft feel to the piece. The frame is built up on a layer of gold labels four die & grand labels four die shapes. The project is complete with some bitty blossom felt flowers set on a crushed silky aqua ribbon.

Step by Step Instructions
1 Select the products needed for the project. Here Tim Holtz Distress Markers: Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Shabby Shutters, Tattered Rose, Tumbled Glass & Stormy Sky are used. The shabby chic Umount stamp, the gold labels & grand labels four dies are also needed. Check out the full project list of items needed to complete this card.
1 2 Mount the shabby chic frame stamp onto some Umount Repositional cushion. Place the prepared stamp onto an acrylic block before inking it up with the black archival ink pad. Stamp the image 3 or 4 times on a piece of coconut card. Make sure one of the images has some white card left all around the image & heat set the ink.
23 Now choose if you want to colour the image using the distress markers directly onto the card or by scribbling the marker onto an acrylic block & picking the ink with a water pen. Here a small area of the frame has the pen used directly on the image & then it will be blended in with the water pen.
4 So after the tumbled glass ink has been applied to the frame add a squiggle of ink to the acrylic block with a white piece of card placed underneath, alternatively use a white ceramic plate as the colour will show up easily. Now pick up the ink with the water pen & start to blend in the colours.
5 After the frame & flower has been coloured in with the different shades of the blue distress markers, then colour in a 2nd & 3rd rose on the other stamped images using the tattered rose pen. Again use the darker colour in the areas that would normally be shaded. Often these are the shaded areas of a stamped image.
6 Now pick up some ink with the water pen & blend the tattered rose ink on the blank areas of the stamp. Don`t worry about being too fussy if the ink goes over the rose or leaf areas as they will be cut off.
7 Set the image & rose buds a side to dry or heat set using a heat tool. When dry cut out the rose flower head and any leaves that you have coloured in and they well be used to decoupage the image. Place the largest gold labels four die over the coloured shabby chic frame & secure in place using some low tack tape.
8 Also tape a grand labels four die which is the next size up from the gold labels die on the middle of a piece of the polka dot Teresa Collins paper. Cut both pieces through the Grand Calibur machine. Now cut the next size up grand die shape using a light blue card stock.
9 Once the pieces have been cut then emboss the shapes using the die cutting machine embossing sandwich, which in the Grand Calibur machine will be the base plate, then the dies & card followed by the tan mat & then the pink embossing plate.
10 Take the piece of decorative paper where the grand smallest label has been cut out of the middle & cut down one side edge to make the card 7¾” wide x 8”. To replace the distress feel to the paper use some dried marigold ink on a piece of cut`n`dry foam to finish off the edges.
11 Mount the backing paper onto a piece of light blue card & trim leaving a small border around the edge. Ink the decorative stamp from the peaceful nights stamp plate using the dried marigold distress ink & stamp at random over the paper.
12 Distress & continue to stamp the largest blue labels four die shape in the same dried marigold ink. Add the backing paper panel to a base card made up by joining 2 sheets of teal card together. Build each layer using foam tape for added dimension.
13 Fold a piece of felt in half & cut out using the largest of the bitty blossoms flowers. The felt will need to be the wool mix felt to enable the felt to be cut using a die cutting machine. This can be done in 2 runs if you want to cut as singles.
14 Add a thin line of dries clear Cosmic Shimmer glue. When using felt you don`t want to catch the glue on the felt as it will show up.
15 Start to roll the end of the blossom up rolling the felt onto the glue & twisting the felt as it comes up. Working slowly & upwards will allow the glued edges to stay away from each other.
16 Make the 2nd felt flower up & set aside to dry. Prepare a crushed silk bow & add a small pearl to the centres of the felt flowers. Don`t glue the felt in place yet.
17 Cut & emboss 3 leaf sprigs using the open leaf die set. Colour the leaves using the peeled paint distress ink on a piece of cut`n`dry foam.
18 Add a small amount of ultra thick embossing crystals onto a folded piece of copy paper. Select a glass vial & remove the cork stopper from the bottle.
19 Tip the paper up & add the UTEE into the vial to give the impression they are rose seeds. Mustard seeds would also work well too.
20 Take the inked leaves & add them to the knot of the crushed silky ribbon using either the Cosmic Shimmer glue or 3D glue. Add the felt flower over the top of the leaves.
21 Take some self adhesive pearl swirls & add to the top corner of the card to embellish the project. Stamp the `Blessing to have a Friend` on a piece of card and tear & distress the edges before adding to the side of the card.
22 Stamp & colour in a 2nd frame & rose panel. Cut around the stamped area cutting out the white inner areas too. Curve the piece before adding to base panel using 3D glue. Add the single rose heads on the top layer. This will add a lovely dimension to the card.
23 Add the small vial to the corner of the card to complete the project off.
24 Pulling out areas in a stamp can so often bring dimension to a project & coupled with the die shapes will give a lovely feel to the finished project ~ Happy Crafting
