This workshop shows how to create a decorative stand up card using the Spellbinders `Enchanted labels 28` die. The corners are perfect to make an intricate card base ready for you to decorate. There is a part 1 to this project – please see CE workshop site for that or follow the link below.
The workshop will share the special tricks needed to make the folded stand up area of the card. The wonderful Heartfelt Creations vintage floret paper has been used throughout the project to give a coordinated feel to the piece.

Step by Step Instructions
Now cut 2 smaller labels 28 die shapes out of the heartfelt collection papers & 2 of the smaller enchanted frames, one in blue & one in green. They will be used to decorate the front & back of the stand up card.
Select the `May set sail ` sentiment from the paper pad as this will be used for the reverse panel of the card.
Place the labels 28 die over the sentiment and as you`ll see the flower section won`t fit into the die area. There is a technique that will help you get around this problem and will work on other projects. So lay the die down & mark in pen where the area of the flower edge falls & on the inside area of the die too.
Snip up to marks just made. This will allow the die to placed over the paper when cut leaving an area uncut ready to be decoupaged later.
Place the die onto the sentiment area & ease the areas that are going to be uncut over the die. Be careful not to tear the paper when doing this.
Place the prepared piece through the die cutting machine using the normal sandwich for cutting & also emboss the piece using the tan mat etc. This is the reverse side of the cut piece, showing how the some of the die area is not cut.
Remove the die from the piece & snip around the edge of the flowers to complete the sentiment panel. This technique is great for cutting areas which have small tricky areas that fall outside of the die area.
Lay the prepared piece on the enchanted frame & decide which side of the paper you want to be used.
Once all the elements are selected for the front & back of the card the start to cut out the door area of the paper to act as the main focal point of the card. This card style is great for making the most out of the 12”x12” paper as the door still useable in the bottom right hand corner of the paper.
So cut out the door making sure the flowers are cut out around the edges of the door. Cut down the centre of the door and along the top and bottom edge of the door frame to allow the door to open. Cut a piece of paper with flowers on so it can be placed under the door frame.
Cut a width of teardrop lace so it measures the width of the base card. In this case it`s 4.5 teardrop sections. Add some broken china distress ink onto a piece of cut`n`dry foam & distress the lace.
Attach the labels 28 panel onto the base stand up card which was made using part 1 of this workshop. Use foam tape for added dimension & then stick the lace across the piece.
Take the door & curve the flowers over a closed blade of scissors to add shape to flowers. Add the prepared paper for under the door & then add the door to the card.
This is how the layers will look on the card. Use foam tape or 3d glue on all the layers for added dimension throughout the project. It also shows the folded stand up area of the card.
Cut out extra flowers from the paper pad & add the Cosmic Shimmer varnish to the doors. Make sure the door is flat when doing this until the varnish dries.
Apply the flowers to the card & add the varnish to give them a lovely glazed look. Apply 2 coats if needed.
Here is the completed front of the card.
Add the layers of die shapes as well as the sentiment to the reverse of the card to complete the project.
