A4 Cream Cardstock

Step by Step Instructions

Take 2 sheets of A4 double sided cream card & score one into a tri fold card (3 DL score lines) and score the 2nd sheet in half to create an A5 card base.

Move the just scored line to the edge of the score board & score at the DL point.

3 Now fold the card back to the A5 card & with the crease down the left hand side crease the DL score line just made backwards. (This will flap will be hidden in the next step)

4 Open up the just creased card & lay it flat. Add double sided tape to the top of the short tab. Lay the A4 folded card next to the piece & remove the backing of the tape.

5 Place the A5 panel of the folded card up to the crease of the taped panel & stick it down. DO NOT place it over the crease as it will result in the card not closing properly.

6 Now the base of the card will be the A5 card with 4 sides of DL shape panels that have a concertina effect.

Select the different size oval dies that will make up the different layers throughout the card. Here a smaller oval was used but in the finished piece the smallest floral oval was used. The beauty of the Spellbinder oval dies are that they can be mixed & match to suit the needs of the project.

Place the different oval frames & selected cross dies onto some cream card. Cut & emboss them through the Grand Calibur machine.

Place a decorative cut border along with a border insert on the edge of a piece of cream card. Cut 2 panels out by using 2 layers of card at once.

10 Cut the just cut panel to fit the DL panel on the front of the card & for the 3rd panel on the inside of the card. Leave a border all around the 4 edges of the card.

11  Now distress the edges of the crosses, the ovals & the decorative panels using the old paper distress ink on a piece of cut`n`dry foam.

12  Cut another panel to fit on the A5 back panel, again leave a border around the edge of the card. Wrap a piece of the guipure duchess lace around the length of the card & secure it to the reverse of the card using some glue or double sided tape.

13  Add this panel to the back of the card using some foam tape. This will lift the card to take up the depth of the lace. Now add the 2 decorative DL panels to the 1st & 3rd flap of the card.

14  Place a large oval on the back of the card; this is the next size up oval from the floral oval die. Also distress the edges using the old paper distress ink.

15  Now fold the 2nd concertina part closed so that the cut floral oval shape can be placed exactly in the correct place using the oval underneath as a guide.

16  Turn the flap over & place a thin piece of foam tape to the reverse side of the floral oval.

17 Add some glue to the reverse of another floral oval & place the piece over the other edge of the die & this will cover up the reverse of the die & give a place for a sentiment to be added if needs be.

18  Repeat this process using the smaller floral oval die for the front panel & add the 2nd oval to the reverse.

19  Place the embossed crosses in the centre of the ovals making sure the smallest cross is placed on the front oval. Here a smaller plain oval has been used to mat over the larger oval on the back panel.

20 Add small faux pearl dots to the centre of the decorative panel & along the
side, top & bottom of this piece

21  Attach a small bow with 2 decorative hat pins placed in the centre of the bow knot. Also add some faux pearls to the tips of the cross & set aside to dry.

22  Here is the view of the concertina card which shows off the Spellbinder oval & cross dies. The finished card is an A5 card base & would look nice in a matching handmade box.
