Step by Step Instructions
Print the smallest envelope along with the A6 insert sheets which will create the notelets. Print the pieces onto 160sgm paper for a lovely feel.
Make the envelopes up as per instructions printed on the envelope itself. Cut the insert sheets in half ready for the next step.
Take the `wishing you a wonderful Christmas` stamp and ink it using the archival ink pad. Stamp on the faded area of the insert oval and repeat this on all of the other notelets.
This project uses 5 envelopes & inserts in each bundle as this makes a lovely depth to the notelet pack. For this project 10 envelopes & notelets will be needed.
Tie each set with a thin satin ribbon. Place the 2 sets of notelets together to gauge the width needed for the folder. The spine will need to the width of both sets of notelets placed together.
Place the 1st set of notelets in the corner of the card leaving a small border on the top & left hand side. Score down the right hand side next to the 1st set of notelets.
Move the just scored line across to the A4 gate point on a score board & score down the DL point. This creates a 1inch spine (the depth of the 2 notelets added together). The instructions have been done this way to show how different size notelets or amounts to be used.
Turn the card & score across the bottom of the notelet & then again ½” after the score line to create the depth of each set of the notelets. Adding these measurements together will make the 1” depth of the spine.
Measure the same width of the left hand panel & measure that same amount on the right hand panel & cut off the excess cut on the right side. Cut up the middle of the spine section to the first score line & remove that inner section.
Measure the width of the notelet panels & cut 2 pieces of card to the same width. Place the romantic rectangles die onto the top edge of the card & cut & emboss both pieces out. Try using different dies to create decorative borders with your card.
Either glue or use double sided tape to the top section of the score tab. DO NOT add glue to the depth piece of the folder/tab. Now add the just cut panel to the tab & repeat this on the other tab on the right hand side of the folder.
With the extended flaps now in place make a slit just wide enough to take the ribbon in the spine embossed lines. This cut needs to be in the centre of the flaps to make the ribbon lay nicely. Repeat this on the other spine edge.
Take a length of the 2 tone ribbon & thread it through the slit.
Add the notelets under the flap on the left hand side of the folder; wrap the ribbon around the notelets and around the side of the folder before finishing the ribbon off in a bow on the front of the card. Use either the red or olive ribbon for this. Repeat this process with the right hand set of notelets but add the bow on the inside of the folder to make a feature of it.
Print both sheets of Christmas trees in the A6 option. Snip out the different layers of the tree before building up the image. Mount the topper onto some red card to co-ordinate the colours in the project.
Make a bow out of the wrinkled ribbon & add over the bow on the front of the card.
Here is the inside look of the notelet set with the ribbons holding the notelets in place. Why not make some everyday notelets out of the world of Tatty Button Cd Rom.
