Step by Step Instructions

1 This workshop shows how use either the micro beads or crushed ribbon for the wedding dress.

2 Attach the wedding dress stamp to an acrylic block and cut 2 lengths of the crushed ribbon so they cover the length of the dress.

Attach the ribbon onto a piece of double sided adhesive sheet.

Either leave the white backing on the reverse side of the ribbon or remove it and place the sticky side into the micro beads.

Press the beads firmly into the sticky sheet to ensure all the beads have been stuck in place. The micro beads are optional & for this project just the crushed ribbon has been used for the wedding dress, but I wanted to show both effects.

6 Use the Perfect Medium ink pad to ink up the dress stamp. Dust the ribbon with an anti static bag before stamping the image onto the ribbon; apply the bright gold CS embossing powder & heat set the powder. USE LIGHT BLASTS OF HEAT SO THE RIBBON ISN`T SCORCHED. Cut the dress out around the embossed edge & removing the hanger area.

Now to make the faux letterpress effect using the Couture Creations embossing folder. Apply distress ink flatly over the negative side of the embossing folder (the not raised side)

Wipe around the plain edges of the folder if a larger area is going to be made. Here just a single panel is needed so no need to wipe the excess away. Add the piece of card into the embossing folder without moving it once in place else the ink will smudge.

9 Place the folder & card inside onto the Grand Calibur base plate & then add the tan embossing mat over the folder before placing the raspberry adapter embossing plate over the top. Place the sandwich through the GC machine to create the faux letterpress effect.

10 Here is the completed look with the white embossed area as the ink was never placed in this area & the ink just lays behind the embossed area which highlights design.

11  The scattered straw ink pad was used to show the effect for the workshop but for a more delicate feel the old paper ink has been used to create a softer feel. Antique linen is another lovely colour to use.

12 Once the ink is dry then trim around the edges of the card. Place the piece on the non stick craft mat & add some of the gold Adirondack paint from the dauber to create a distress gold edge to the card.

13  Cut 3 of the bitty spiral blossoms out of a gold shimmer paper & roll the flowers up to create the 3D embellishments. Use the gold dauber to highlight the edges of the flowers.

14  Cut a white panel larger than the embossed letterpress piece & add small faux pearls using the Cosmic Shimmer pearl glue. Also make a larger mat base card & use the gold dauber make a bold textured effect around the edge.

15 Cut & emboss a lattice frame out of the matching gold shimmer paper. Attach this to the embossed backing paper using foam pads positioned under the dress area. Stamp & emboss another dress onto white card & cut out the image keeping the coat hanger in place this time. Place the hanger through the lattice of the frame & add the dress over the frame using foam tape for dimension. Add the ribbon dress section to the card using 3d glue and curving the dress for added movement in the design.

16  Add the 2 key charms with a small white bow over the top to the card. Stamp & emboss the `To a Special Couple` sentiment & edge the piece using the gold dauber. Make a bow out of the white ribbon before adding the 3 bitty flowers to the knot area.

17  Here is a closer view of the card. Perfect for a couple celebrating their Golden wedding anniversary. The stamp set is perfect for anniversary cards as well as wedding cards. Also this project can be themed for all the different wedding numbers as often it is hard to get hold of a coral card or sapphire one.
