Silicone Mould that allows a high temperature to be added
Step by Step Instructions
The ultra thick embossing crystals can be melted in a melt pot, an empty pie tin with a clamp handle for safety or like here a small pan from a cheap shop. Using the pan means it can be heated on a hob or a low gas flame & the handle gives the added safety when pouring.
JUST TAKE CARE WHEN HEATING THE CRYSTALS THE MELTED POWDER GETS VERY HOT.
Place some of the ultra thick clear embossing crystals along with the UT lapis jade crystals into the pan.
Melt the powders together and depending on the colour that is required for the project, then add a few drops of alcohol ink to get the exact colour needed. Here lettuce alcohol ink has been added to give a lovely green making the mixture 2 tone.
Take a silicone mould that allows mediums to be added that heat up to 300 degrees. Gently pour in the liquid & use the back of a teaspoon to ease the liquid into the petals of the mould.
If too much liquid is added it will spoil the shape, so once it`s cool just remove from the mould and melt it again. By the time the last flower has been made the 1st flower will be ready to be taken out of the mould. Set the flowers aside for later.
Place the Spellbinder classic frame in the centre of a piece of light green shimmer card. Also add a foliage die to the centre & cut the frame out.
Add some red pepper & lettuce alcohol ink to the felt applicator & stamp at random over a piece of gold mirri card. Repeat this process on a piece of gold paper.
Remove the backing on one side of the doubled adhesive sheet & stick it over the coloured mirri card. Leave the other backing sheet on & attach the classic frame over the piece using some low tack tape.
After running the die & card through the die cutting machine remove the adhesive backing & place it face down into the micro beads. Press the beads into the adhesive to ensure they are fixed onto the frame.
Cut squares of the adhesive sheet to be placed over the prepared mirri paper. This will save any waste of the adhesive sheet. Now cut 3 of the bitty flowers dies. Add some more of the red pepper alcohol ink and dab onto the green flowers to add depth & shade to the flowers.
Remove the adhesive backing from the bitty pieces and place the spiral blossoms into the micro beads. This is the same technique used as with the frame.
Start to roll the bitty flower up starting from the outside of the spiral.
Add some 3d clear glue to the base of the flower. Let go of the rolled flower so it uncurls a little and secure it into the base of the spiral in the clear glue.
Complete this on all 3 of the flowers. Using the paper with the strength of the adhesive paper and then the micro beads makes it a workable medium to make the flowers out of.
Add the `Wishing you all things beautiful` stamp to an acrylic block and add the Prefect medium onto the stamp.
Now stamp onto a piece of white card & emboss the sentiment using the bright gold embossing powder & heat set it.
Use the flourish stamp & the Victorian velvet & peeled paint ink pad to stamp at random over the sentiment panel. Stick the frame over the panel. Trim away the excess white card around the frame.
Cut the frame outer panel to fit an 8” x8” card base & score an inner line around all 4 edges using the line on the Eazi score board as a guide and scoring on the inner embossed line. Repeat this process on all 4 sides for a lovely border.
Either add wet glue to the reverse of the beaded panel & place the green outer frame over the frame to find out exactly where the frame needs to be stuck. Using the wet glue means it can be moved into position once down.
Alternatively find the correct place for the frame and attach the panel using the sticky tape runner.
Add the green panel using foam pads to reveal the beaded frame showing underneath. Take a length of the vintage ribbon and wrap 3 loops of the ribbon around & knot to make a shabby bow.
Add 3 of the green flower embellishments over the ribbon before adding the micro bead flower & some foliage leaves. Here some bitty flowers have been made out of paper & added.
Add a green flower to the corner of the card & make a small arrangement on the top left hand side of the frame.
Take the Cosmic Shimmer berry red glue & add drops of the glue around the corner of the card. Drop & lift the glue without touching the point onto the card for a perfect pearl. Allow to dry.
Here is the completed project with lots of dimension. Lots of different effects & colours can be achieved using the mirri card & alcohol inks. So have a play with different colour combinations.
Here is a close up of bitty flowers & the green ultra thick handmade embellishments.
There are so many moulds on the market so as long as they take a high heat then play with different shapes & the ultra thick embossing powders as you can create some lovely embellishments for your crafting.
