Step by Step Instructions

1 Take the heat emboss acetate & swipe the anti static bag across the sheet. Using the black archival ink stamp at random over the acetate using the small leaf image. Alternatively emboss the image.

1

Place the acetate on the Eazi Score board with the edge on the no2. line. & score at the no. 3 line. Working with acetate is a little harder on a score board so why not make a white sheet up on copier paper and use it as a guide underneath.

2

3 Place the last score line onto no.2 again & score at no.4 Move the last score line to no.1 & score at no.6. Now place the last score line on no.2 & score at no.4 Turn the sheet & place a mark at no.6 & turn the piece back & score at no.3 in between both the 2&4 measurements.

3

Click Here  for the PDF printable worksheet of the measurements above – Please not they are not the exact measurement of the board but to be used as a guide when scoring.

4 Take the green card & mirror the full length measurements down the card. DO NOT add the half lines in as this part is to make the box base.

4

5 Place the decorative Edgeabilities dies along the top edge of the base box.

5

Cut & emboss the piece through the Grand Calibur die cutting machine. Once the 1st length has been cut then move the dies along & repeat the process for a continued cut line.

6

7 Crease up all the score lines. The picture shows the card & acetate score lines will marry up with each other.

7

8 Place double sided tape just above the centre score line on the green card & pull back the tape backing & crease it down to make a tab.

8

Place the acetate over the tape and pull the tabs ends to secure the piece in place. Use some Cosmic Shimmer clear glue under the right hand side top corner to secure the acetate to the card.

9

10  Place the central score line of the green card back on the score board at position no.2 & score at no.4. This will give the correct depth of the box base. Trim away excess card.

10

11  Cut off the slim first section of card featured in the bottom left hand side of this step. Now trim up to the score line on all the remaining score lines. On the 2 smaller sections cut another straight line on the diagonal to create a tab for the box base.

11

12 Add a piece of wonder tape along the inside side tab of the green card & add a touch of clear glue around the decorative pattern & acetate to ensure the border edge is secured in place.

12

13  Fold the green card in half so it lays flat & the edge of the piece butts up neatly to the tab.

13

14  Press the tab over the card along with the acetate top to secure the side piece in place.

14

15 Tuck one of the box bases in & attach double sided tape to both of the tabs.

15

16  Stick the tabs onto the base panel. Now add some more tape to the other base panel & secure that in place to complete the bottom of the box.

16

17  Use the half way down score lines to pleat the top of the bag in place. Punch a hole in the centre of the top to make a quick & easy finish to the bag. Tie a ribbon through the piece to secure the bag closed.

17

18  Alternatively cut the labels 4 die on the fold on a piece of green card to create a hinged piece. This will make a closure for the bag. Also cut a single die shape using the same die. Chose the die that fits the width of the bag that it is being made.

18

19  Pierce 2 holes in the fold of the labels piece & thread a length of vintage ribbon through to make a handle. Secure the ends of the ribbon flat onto the back panel. Cut off the side & top edges of the 2nd labels piece.

19

20  Place some more double sided tape or glue on the back section of the folded piece & stick it with the fold edge onto the top edge of the acetate.

20

21 Place the prepared 2nd piece over the panel on the inside of the bag to cover up the tape.

21

22  Add a hitch fastener to the acetate making sure a hole marries up on the flap section.

22

23  Stamp the garden collage image onto a white sheet of card using the black archival ink pad.

23

24  Now cut around the edge of the watering can making sure the remaining piece is kept as a complete piece.

24

25  Ink around the edges of both pieces using the peeled paint distress stain.

25

26  Work some of the peeled paint distress ink on the cut`n`dry foam to soften the inner edge of the design.

26

27 Stick the small piece to the bag & then raise the watering can image up with some foam tape & place over the smaller panel. Make a bow using the bakers twine to complete the project.

This type of bag could be used with a baby theme by adding some small socks inside the bag & using pinks or blues. Use the techniques to make whatever colour combination you want.
