Step by Step Instructions

1 Cut 2 of the Spellbinders spiral blossom one shapes out of 160gsm paper. Embossing the spiral is optional but it would be done after cutting the shapes out.

Select the shabby chic stamp and place it on an acrylic block. Here the Eau de Cologne stamp has been used.

Ink the stamp with Victorian velvet distress ink and stamp at random over the spiral shape.  This will add a delicate touch to the piece.

Now repeat the process using the festive berries or the barn door ink pad.

Complete this on both of the flat spiral shapes & allow the ink to dry. Use a heat gun to speed up the process.

Starting with the outside end, roll the spiral tightly following the curved edge as the piece is rolled up.

7 Once the spiral has been rolled, let go of the flower to release the tightness and let the flower fall into a nice even shape. The centre of the die shape has a more solid base which the flower will be secured onto.

Place a small amount of glue onto edge piece of the base.

Now stick the first rolled petal to the glued side & hold the 2 pieces together until they are dry.

10  Place a small amount of glue around the edges in the cone shaped base.

11  Now press the remaining rolled spiral into the glue to complete the flower. Hold in place to allow the glue to stick to the edges of the flower.

12 Here is the complete flower. Repeat this process with the 2nd cut piece. To make a slightly smaller flower cut off the inner base to reduce to size or indeed add a further length to make a larger flower.

13  Fold a piece of A4 card in half & place the largest rectangle die onto the card making sure the cut edge is not covering the folded edge.

14  Cut the previous step & then cut another single piece using the next size down rectangle shape. Cut a 4th from largest piece of white card ready for the next step.

15  Stamp at random over the white card using the festive berries or barn door ink pad.

16  Score a line across the centre of the folded rectangle card ready to use it as the base of the easel card.

17  Place double sided tape on the lower inner section of the easel card & secure the panel to easel card.

18  Place the stamped panel onto the rectangle panel using foam tape for dimension. Cut & emboss a classic frame & apply 3D glue to frame before adding to the card.

19 Attach the 2 blossom flowers to the corner of the frame to compliment the design.

20  Stamp a LOVE sentiment onto a Fleur di Lis doily shape & attach it to the panel using foam tape.

21  Make a small bow using the 2 tone red ribbon & place the bow onto the leftover red panel from the classic frame to act as the easel stopper.

21  22 Here is the finished easel card complete with blossom flowers.

23  The sentiment `LOVE` has been used on this occasion but this style card is ideal for so many different occasions and colour schemes.

One Response to Spiral Blossom One Easel Card

  1. Paper Junkie says:

This is SO pretty Suzanne! And just for a change I don’t have to buy anything new to make it!!!It’s also given me the idea for a card for my musician friend using music stamps for the flowers.
    Many thanks.
