Step by Step Instructions

1 Trim a full length piece of A4 card to 4 inches wide. Score down the middle of the card from top to bottom.

1

Place the piece of card into the tied together embossing folder by Couture Creations. Using the Grand Calibur instructions pass the folder through the machine.

2

Open the folder up and turn the folder to the plain card at the bottom & line up the design. Pass the folder through the GC machine.

3

4 As the edge of the embossing folder has lightly pressed against the embossed piece then take an embossing tool and follow the pattern & go over the embossed piece to crispen the join.

4

5 Score a 2nd line using the small gap on the Eazi scoreboard (0.5cms) to create the depth to the notepad. The notepad can have a deeper depth to the spine – just widen the embossed line.

5

6 Use either the cut`n`dry foam & the peeled paint distress ink or use the ink pad directly over the piece by swiping lightly over the embossed design.

6

Select some paper – 160gsm paper is an ideal weight for the notepad. Stamp a decorative corner to each page using the peeled paint ink pad.

7

Gather the paper together & place a scrap piece of paper over the top side edge & secure with a clothes peg.

8

9 Repeat this on both sides. Use some Cosmic Shimmer clear or white glue, either by using the nozzle to apply the glue or remove the lid and use a paint brush.

9

10  Apply a thin layer of glue across the side edge. Make sure all the pages are stuck down with the glue.

10

11  Once complete set the pages down and allow to dry. It`s ideal to have the pages resting on something so the glue doesn`t stick down onto a worktop.

11

12  Apply double sided tape to the inside of the embossed panel. Repeat this on the other inside panel.

12

13 Remove the tape backing & add an A4 sheet of card to the back panel.

13

14 Repeat the process & add another sheet to the front panel to create the outer pages of the notepad.

14

15 It is optional to stick the white spine to the glued pages. I prefer it unstuck as it makes the page removal easier.

15

16 Add a line of wonder tape down the edge of the embossed panel (on the front only)

16

17 Ruffle the vintage seam tape onto the tape pressing down hard as it`s laid. Add some clear glue under the ruffles to ensure the ribbons stays in place.

17

18  Here is the full A4 notepad complete with embossed panel & vintage ribbon edge.

18

19  Continue the theme & use the corner stamp to finish the piece off.

19

20 Pick a floral detailed stamp & use different coloured distressed inks to make a colour pallet for easy reference.

20

21 Here is the finished project.

21

22   Here is a DL & A5 notepad. The beauty of the project is you can make the notepad suit your needs.
