Step by Step Instructions
1 Take a sheet of A3 light card, measure & crease at 5.25” and then again at 5 -3/8th (the 3rd marked line on the design ruler) to make a tall DL fold.
2 Place the largest Grand labels 4 die so that the side edges do not touch the sides of the card and secure in place with some low tac tape. Cut & emboss the piece through the Grand Calibur die cutting machine.
3 Trim away the excess curved edge that has formed on the right hand side (where the scissors are pointing)
4 Draw a line across the bottom 2 outer shaped edges & trim them off.
5 Score & crease across the centre remaining shape. This will act as the flap to close the envelope closed.
6 With the envelope closed use the inside of the grand die as a stencil on the front of
the envelope to mirror the shape of the envelope edge.
7 Open the envelope out and cut around the pencil line to give you an open feature to show
off the tag which will be placed inside.
8 Use the 3rd & 4th from largest dies to create the tag to fit into the shaped envelope.
9 Place a scrap piece of paper on the inside of the envelope to protect the inside when stamping.
10 Swipe the anti static bag over the surface of the envelope before stamping at random with the holly stamp. Use the archival ink pad & clear embossing powder but be
sure to add the embossing powder quickly before the ink dries. Heat set with a heat gun.
11 Once the whole front surface is covered with the embossed holly start building the
colours with a mixture of light & dark green. Add a small amount of blue for shading & if you don`t have a red for the berries then use some distress stain directly from the craft mat.
12 Cut 2 of the 3rd largest Grand label 4 die shapes in dark green and 1 of the 4th
largest in light green. Also cut 1 dark green in the largest labels 1 & 1 light green in the 2nd largest labels 1 die. Snip the bottom tip of the large green panels to allow them to fit into the envelope.
13 Make a loop of ribbon & secure onto the top of the dark green card with wonder tape. Stick the other same size shape over the top to cover the ribbon.
14 Wrap 4 lengths of the vintage seam ribbon and tie in a knot to form a bow. Secure it in place at the bottom of the red ribbon hoop.
15 Distress the edges of the envelope using the peeled paint ink & cut`n`dry foam.
16 Place the square nesti shapes onto the front of the envelope using foam tape to raise each layer.
17 Place the light green large label onto the ribbon tag again using foam tap for added dimension.
18 To make the backing papers for the project use the Tatty Button image composer section on the cd, click on the object section and add images your require onto the plain page & build the image as you wish & print an A4 sheet off. For the tag add 4 candles on a blank sheet to make topper and use the Christmas tree decoupage image from the readymade section.
19 Cut the made up holly backing paper using a large Grand labels 4 die and stick in place on the reverse of the envelope. Stick the shaped tab and side edge down to complete
20 Cut the printed images out using small decoupage snips or a craft knife and layer
them onto the tag & topper using 3d glue.
21 Here is the completed project. Using the Grand labels dies in this manner means you can reproduce this style with accuracy every time.
22 Here is a close up of the printed image from the Christmas Tatty button cd rom, the cd provides so much more than images of wonderful Tatty Button making it a very handy cd to have. Great for making unique backing papers and in turn make them into inserts and envelopes if you wish.
