Step by Step Instructions

1 Using a piece of A4 card in a landscape position, place it 3mm`s after the BOX (no.2)
point on the Eazi Score board and score on the A4 Gate (no.4)

2 Then place the just scored line on the BOX (no.2) point and score on the A4 GATE (no.4) line. Turn the card to the other end and repeat both these measurements.

2

3 Turn the card to a portrait position and place the edge of the card on the BOX (no.2) point and score on the A4 GATE (no.4) line. Now turn the card & repeat this scoring on the opposite side to complete all the scoring. The 2 smaller score measurements are made to fit the design onto 1 sheet of A4 card.

3

4 Mark all the corner areas in pencil to be cut away & then extend the line to make a notch marking to also be cut away. This will make the tabs & also give you the 2 self lined end panels.

4

5 Cut away the excess card to form the shape of the holder. You may want to make another card cut out and use it as a template for further holders. Now the notes will sit perfectly into the centre panel.

5

6 Tuck the tabs underneath so the tape doesn`t touch them & place the tissue tape
onto the outside of the box sides making sure the butterflies will be facing the correct way when the sides are raised.

6

7 Wrap the excess tissue tape around the back of the ends of card that have 2 pieces each end as they will be hidden once the side has been folded over. Now cut away the remaining tape from the other sides with the tabs still folded underneath.

7

8 Lay the piece of card flat with all the tab pieces back in place.

8

9 Take a small labels 4 die & secure it in place using low tac tape on the fold line of one of the 2 width end panels.

9

10 Be sure to match the point of the middle of the die with the fold line, this will ensure a crisp opening feature to allow you to get the notes out easily.

10

11 Cut a diagonal edge on the 2 tabs as they will protrude into the cut opening if not.

11  12 Change the colour of the tissue tape to suit your needs, you may wish for a soft tone with spun sugar ink pad or use brushed corduroy ink for an aged feel to the project. Apply the ink using the cut`n`dry foam.

12

13  Ink the 2 inside side panels to continue the theme.

13

14 Now ink the 2 outer edge panels to finish inking the piece. These are all optional depending on the theme you wish to use.

14

15 Place wonder tape on the outside of all 4 tabs.

15

16 Remove the tape backing and place the tab on the inside of the box. Top Tip. Practice getting the position correct whilst the backing is still on.

16

17 Place more tape on the large tab area.

17

18 Before sticking the panel in place for a neat flush finish to the box base.

18

19 Place the box onto a piece of grey board and allow a 1cm edge all around the box & then
measure another piece of card to fit on the inside of the box to line it.

19

20 Cut the card pieces out and wrap some tissue tape around the smaller piece & stick it inside the box. Swipe the distress stain around the edges of 1 side of the larger piece & cover the complete reverse of the same piece.

20

21 Glue the dried panel to the base of the note box to add a feature to the piece.

21

22 Stamp the bee & butterfly images onto the corner of the notes using the brushed corduroy ink pad.

22

23 Take the excess cut out piece of card & lay a length of ribbon over the top of it
& punch a small hole in the centre of the 2 pieces before attaching a hitch fastener through the 2 pieces. Judge the length of the loop you require and place 2 of the reinforcers back to back over the ribbon and punch a hole through the middle of it.

23

24 Loop the ribbon over the fasteners and place the reinforcer over it to secure the loop in place. This piece will give detail to the finished piece.

24

25 Cut a square of cellophane & place the tissue tape around all 4 edges. Colour the tape to match the piece.

25

26 Place the note box in the centre and gather the edges and tie a piece of ribbon into a bow. Swivel the bow to the back of the piece.

26

27 Attach the feature tab piece around the gathered part of the cellophane.

27

28  Wipe the anti static bag over a sheet of the glassine paper and then stamp 4 butterflies onto the paper using the archival ink pad. Work quickly when applying the cosmic shimmer clear embossing powder over the images. Heat set the powder.

28

29 Trim around the butterflies using a small pair of scissors or decoupage snips. Cut 2 whole butterflies out and 2 just using the top wings of the butterfly. Curve the wings with the scissors to give dimension to the wings.

29

30 Attach the butterflies to the cellophane using the dies clear cosmic shimmer glue. This just shows a different way to dress a gift up.
