 Step by Step Instructions

For this project you will need a blank pouchette and the buttons mica mask

2 Lay the pouchette onto the non stick craft mat and then place a piece of scrap copier paper along the scored edge of one of the flaps. Secure the copier paper onto the craft sheet using low tac tape and make sure the tape doesn`t touch the pouchette as it will interfere with the masking effect.

2

3 Place the edge of the mask right up to the creased edge of the pouchette but making sure it doesn`t overlap as it will hinder the folding of the card.

3

Place a small amount of the spackle onto the craft mat and chose whichever medium you wish to use. Here I will show 4 different types so you can see the different results
each will give.

4

5 Here a small amount of rich gold mica has been placed onto the sparkle.

5

Mix the mica by folding the powder into the spackle. This will give a wonderful spackle to the finished piece.

6

7 When adding cosmic shimmer mist to the spackle , do so in the same way as above but then add another small amount of the spackle to account for the added liquid. This
process allows lots of different colour variations.

8 If you chose distress stains just dub a small amount onto the craft mat just above the
spackle and then fold into the stain to achieve the desired colour.

8

Here are the 4 finished colours starting with the comic shimmer mist on the left, then the mica powder, distress stain and finally alcohol ink was used.

9

10 Here the cosmic shimmer mist spackle is used by applying over the mica mask using a spreader tool. Drag the spackle in one direction to achieve a flat layer
covering the gaps in the mask.

10

11 Remove the mask and allow the piece to dry before touching.

 IMPORTANT NOTE:

WHEN USING THE SPACKLE MAKE SURE THE NON STICK MAT & MASK ARE PLACED IN A BOWL OF WARM SOAPY WATER BEFORE THE SPACKLE DRIES SO IT CAN BE WIPED OFF QUICKLY WHEN YOU ARE READY. ONCE IT`S DRY IT WILL BECOME PERMANENT.

11

12 Place the mask on the opposite edge in the same way as you have just completed. You can move the mask up slightly for a different effect, just make sure the mask
doesn`t touch over the copier paper.

12

13 Once completed allow both sides to dry. This will only take about 30 minutes and then you can use the distress inks over the top.

13

14 Use the cut`n`dry foam with the brushed corduroy distress ink to give the aged feel to the piece.

14

15 Go back into the piece and add more ink in places to add depth to the piece. The finished worked piece will have a faux suede feel to it.

15

16 Measure the width of the wrinkled ribbon and with the pouchette on a craft mat. Cut a slit just wider than the ribbon working from the centre on the scored edge of
the pouchette. Repeat this on the other side of the pouchette flap.

16

17 Place a length of the wrinkled ribbon through the slits ready for the next few steps.

17

18 Either use a stamped image or the Tatty Button cd image composer to make the toadstool with the little mouse & buttons topper. Print 2 pieces out if wanting to decoupage the toadstool.

18

19 Cut the toadstool and the part of the stem out using scissors or a craft knife. Use the closed points of the scissors to curve the edges of the piece.

19

20 Attach the topper to the inside of the pouchette with the ribbon underneath this piece. Apply the piece using foam pads or 3d glue. This will give depth and dimension to the piece and also cover up how you have attached it.

20

21 Place the mask over the inner flaps of the pouchette and use the distress ink for a quick and easy finish to the pouchette. Alternatively cover with a matching backing paper.

21

22 Here is a close up of the coloured piece.

22

23 Apply some rich gold dazzle paint to some of the buttons. Dab the paint with your finger tips to allow the image to show through, this just adds to the button effect.

23

24 Here is the inside of the worked piece.

24

25 Continue the theme and ink the 2 outer flaps. Close these flaps in before folding the spackle ones shut.

25

26 Tie the ribbon into a bow & attach a small topper in the bottom corner of the cover
and add a tatty bow to the top right hand corner to complete the project.

26

27 Here shows the completed project with the ribbon encased behind the topper so it becomes part of the finished piece. This idea could easily have a concertina card in
the centre to add more images & sentiments. It might just be something you wish to make for a special celebration with photos in.
