Step by Step Instructions

1 Take the cracker template, here the outer section of the template has been used as it`s
easier to trace around the points. Place the template up to the edge of a piece of card and draw around the template.

2 Once completed the finished piece will look like this. Now photocopy the image and reduce the size whilst copying the piece to suit the size you require. This template has been reduced by 60% and fits perfectly with the measurements in the workshop for the box.

2

3 Cut a piece of A4 card to 8 ¼ inches x 8 ¼ inches and then score at the no.1 box score line on the eazi score board on all 4 edges. This measurement is ¾ of an inch if
measuring by hand.

3

4 Cut 2 pieces of card to 8 ¼ x 4 1/8th” & cut 2 pieces of card to 6 ¾” x 4 1/8th “. Score at the no.1 box line on each end of the wider piece of card. Repeat this on other piece of the biggest card.

4

5 Take the base of the box and cut `v` notches on all 4 corners. Refer to step 11 to see the notches if you are unsure how it will look.

5

6 Tape the tab on the outside of the box and then place a strip of tape across one edge of the box and then 1 cm either side of the next side.

6

Take the side piece of card with the 2 tabs either end & stick it to the bottom edge of
the box base and stick down overlapping pieces on the next side.

7

8 This is how the piece will look once it`s fixed in place. The overlapping piece is
there to stick the next panel in place & it allows you to use A4 card for the project.

8

9 Repeat the same process to add the other panel to the opposite side of the box. Now place double sided tape to the 3 edges. You may want to add wet glue for a firmer finish.

9

10 Place the smaller side panel to both sides of the box to complete the base.

10

Step 11   Cut a coordinating piece of card to 8 ¼” x 8 ¾” and score around the outside again using the no.1 box line. Cut the top 2 corners off completely & cut the bottom 2 corners to a `v` notch.

11

12  Crease up the scored lines and stick the 2 tabs on the inside of the box this time. Place a piece of double sided tape along the inside tab.

12

13 Cut 3 strips of the `fleur di lis` border & turn the lid over and attach the border to
the edge of the lid rim using a fine double sided tape (wonder tape) or clear wet glue.

13

14 Attach the taped tab edge of the lid to the back of the box base to create your hinged lid.

14

15 Here is a close up of the finished box ready for you to decorate as you wish.

15

16 Select which size template / size cracker you want to use. Here is the original size and one reduced to 75% & the other to 60%.

16

17 Print a backing paper from the Tatty Button cd & fold the paper in half lengthways & cut into 2 pieces. Cut the length to 7inches. Repeat this so you have 12 pieces of card.

17

18 Find the centre of the long edge of the card & place the `0` of the ruler in the centre. Mark either side of this point to match the same width of the template & use this as a quick guide to fold all 12 pieces. It saves a lot of measuring of card.

18

19 Fold edge piece of card & place the small template over the card before cutting out
the `v` notches. Repeat this to make 12 crackers. Follow the instructions as you usually would to make the larger crackers and tie the mini crackers off with a thin organza ribbon.

19

20 Attach a piece of sunflower backing paper, matted with green card to the lid & then add a Tatty Button topper using foam tape for added dimension.

20

21 Fill the box with the 12 mini crackers.

21

22 Add a piece of square sunflower card in between each layer of crackers for a luxury feel to the box.

23 Here is a close up of the hinged lid and the crackers inside. Change the image for different occasions.
