Step by Step Instructions
Take a piece of A4 card and decide on the width you would like down each side. Here the card is placed on the Eazi score board at the no.6 A5 half fold point & scored on the no.7 A4 half fold point. Score down the full length of both edges of the card.
Move the centre A4 half fold you have just scored to the no4. A4 gate point and score in the 2 outer panels ONLY at the no.3 A5 gate point.
Continue by pulling the card to the left and place the edge of the card on the no.5 DL point and score in both the outer panels ONLY at the no.4 A4 gate point & also at the no.3 A5 gate point
Place the card onto a cutting mat and working on the side panels cut a straight line from the first score line to the last score line. Repeat this on the other edge of the card.
Crease a mountain fold on the top 2 score lines.
Then crease a valley fold then mountain fold on the next 2 score points, complete this on both sides of the card.
Now you have the blank base card shape to decorate as you wish. You may want to use patterned papers & a stamped image or use papers from the cd, it`s up to you. Why not mix and match so the designs compliment each other.
To make this button backing paper for the project use the Tatty Button image composer section on the cd, click on the object section and add buttons to the plain page. Build the image as you wish & then right click on a large button & change the colours to add depth to the project.
You will need to print each page of the envelope & this will fit perfectly with this style card.
Also print a backing paper and a selection of large buttons which have just been added to a blank sheet on the image composer.
Cut the 2 envelope pieces out & follow the lines to score and crease where needed, keep the instructions on the sheet to refer to when making the envelope up later.
Distress the edges of the envelope using the cut`n`dry foam & the tumbled glass ink pad. Use the tape pen or double sided tape to attach the envelope panels together.
Cut a strip of the button backing paper and distress the edges again using the cut`n`dry foam before adding to the bottom panel of the card. Also add the same width strips to the tops of the recess panels of the card.
Cut the buttons out and piece holes through the false holes before adding tapestry threads in a criss cross direction. Tie the ends at the front and fray the ends to add detail to the buttons.
Use the image composer to create a scene with Tatty Button in. Build the design as you wish & create a topper sheet.
Ignore step 16 & 17 part if you would rather stamp an image and add as a topper on the base card
Whilst building the topper sheet, right click with your computer mouse and select the colour option section. By clicking on each section you can change the colour of the dress or the hair individually. This feature is fantastic when creating your design as it gives you endless options.
a Here is another benefit of the cd & the colour feature. Place an image of Tatty Button onto a blank sheet in the image composer, click the scale button and enlarge Tatty to the maximum A4 size (or whatever size you wish), right click & go into colour options, click on each section of Tatty & add the brightness to 100, saturation onto -100 & then contrast onto anything up to 100 (you may wish to leave the shading in) This will give you a white image for you to colour in with your pens , pencils or any other colour mediums.
Back to the project!!! Select the `topper sheets` button and print off an A4 sheet. You may wish to use the decoupage feature or chose the readymade up sheets on the cd, it`s totally up to you.
Cut out the topper, here I have used the largest topper.
Mat the topper onto some purple card 7 then a mat of the button card using foam pads; this will all compliment the colour scheme. Here you can see the top panels of buttons that were added earlier. Attach the 3D buttons to the side recessed panels.
As there are 2 images the same size on the topper sheet, decoupage just the fence and tatty and also the kite.
Add the pieces to the topper using 3D glue or foam pads to add depth to the piece.
Attach a bow to the top corner to complete the card.
A close up of the recessed side edge of the card which adds dimension to the card and makes a focal point to the topper or stamped image in the main panel.
Here is the completed project with matching envelope to compliment the project.
