Step by Step Instructions
Take the blank 4” x 4” board book and place on the non stick craft mat. Select the Cosmic Shimmer mist and get some kitchen roll at the ready.
Swipe the dusty concorde distress ink pad over the cover of the book to act as a base ready for the shimmer mist.
Spritz the shimmer mist over the ink.
Then dab with the kitchen roll to ensure a complete covering of the mist.
Complete this throughout the book pages.
Lift the kitchen roll up and down in a scrunched ball to achieve a mottled look before either heat setting or leaving to dry naturally.
Dab the gold paint along the edges of the book to add a feature to the piece.
Take the chosen numbers and place on the craft mat and using the felt applicator add the lettuce ink to the numbers.
Stamp the lavender image onto the thick card using the archival ink pad and dry with the heat gun, and then take the cut`n`dry foam and blend the vintage photo ink on the basket & the dusty concorde on the lavender & distress around the edges of the card.
A close up of the above step , if you want a more crisp feel to the image then emboss the outline and colour the piece with some cosmic shimmer watercolour paints.
Cut a piece of purple card using the labels 1 die and place on the inside cover. Attach the metal numbers to the card using a 3d glue and finish with a bow in the corner. Either use brads to attach the numbers or if you don`t fill the holes with glitter glue.
Cut a few shapes using the labels 1 die and then place a smaller die inside the card at an angle to create an aperture. Cut & emboss through your die cutting machine.
Stick 3 corners of the green card to a larger size shape and leave the top corner free of glue to allow photos to be added at any stage.
Start placing different worked panels throughout the book to decorate it as you wish.
Apply double sided tape to the middle section of the front cover and lay a length of ribbon across the tape. Now place a label 1 panel over the ribbon to cover it up. Repeat this on the back cover too.
Take the lavender stamp and ink the stems with the peeled paint ink & the lavender tops with the dusty concorde ink and stamp at random over the panel.
Stamp the perfume bottle with the archival ink pad and then emboss in gold embossing powder. Ink the bottle with dusty concorde and leave a small hole to ink with the Victorian velvet to add a shadow effect.
Cut the perfume bottle out and then fill the small areas with the gold pen using the pattern as a guide.
Colour a thin piece of ribbon with the ink pad and then tie it around the neck of the bottle finishing with a bow.
Curve and shape the bottle & then add it to the front of the book using 3d glue. Place a flower over the ribbon to add detail and tie the side ribbon into a bow to close to book.
Here is the first page along with the stamped piece on the second page.
The following page has the empty photo frame and stamped panel. Just continue to fill the book
Here is a close up of the stamped image featuring the torn edge. The completed project is just something different for a special birthday or anniversary; why not change the colours and images as you wish to compliment the person.
