Step by Step Instructions

Take a piece of A3 card and score horizontally 4cms up from the bottom edge, then from the side edge  score 4 vertical lines at 8cms intervals followed by 1 line at 4cms. Then cut off the remaining card.

1

2 Punch a decorative edge down the side panel that is 4cms deep. This is optional and you may wish to add a peel off and gold line down the edge.

2

3 Cut the square off which is formed on the punched edge corner, then cut up to the 4cm line on each of the scored lines. Now cut diagonally up to the 4cm line on the 2nd and 4th panel, this will give you 2 shaped tabs and 2 straight tabs for the box base. The 2nd photo above is a close up of the snipped tabs.

3

4 Mark and punch 2 holes 4cms down from the top edge on the 2nd and 4th panel of the box.

4

5 Cut 2 strips of gold card measuring 5.5cms x 16cms, punch the bottom edge and score them in the middle at 8cms. These will be used later to hide the ribbon ends that create the handles on the box.

5

6 Measure 2 pieces of ribbon exactly the same length (at least 26cms long). Pass the ribbon through the holes and secure the ribbon ends upwards with a piece of double sided tape.

7 Glue the prepared panels over the ribbon ends to hide and neaten the inside of the box.

7

8 Ensure all scored lines are folded and crease. Place a piece of wonder tape down the punched edge and fold the edge closed to create a closed box.

9 Fold the 2 bottom tabs with the snipped edges into the middle and place some glue on tabs. Now close the other 2 tabs shut to create a flush finish to the base of the box.

10 Optional. Cut a gold panel to place over the base to strengthen to base further.

10

11  Here is a photo of the neat finish to the inside of the box.

11

12 Take the A4 gold card and score 3cms and again 3cms in from the side edge, turn the card and repeat the same measurements. Turn the card and measure from the inner last embossed line 8.3cms then score and repeat the 3cms and 3cms line. Turn the card and measure again 8.3cms and then the two 3cms score lines. Trim off the excess card so you are left with the square self lined box lid.

12

13 Trim away the 3 outer box areas on each of the corners. Trim a `v` notch on the remaining square. Repeat on all 4 corners. Stamp the lid with the crackle stamp using the perfect medium and place and emboss with the bright gold embossing powder.

13

14  Crease all the embossed lines and place glue or the tape from the runner on the 4 tabs, gold side up.

14

15 Then run the tape along the 4 outer edges of the inside of the box.

15

16 Fold the side edges up and stick all the tabs to the inside of the next edge of the box.

16

17  Fold and stick down the edges to self line the box and cover the tabs.
