Step by Step Instructions

Use the spellbinder frame to cut and emboss 8 frames from card. For a different look cut 4 frames from one colour of card and use a coordinating colour to cut the 4 inner frames for the candle light holder.

1

Apply black soot distress ink to the white side of black card, this will eliminate any white edges that might be seen on the frame. This step is not required if doubled sided card is used.

2

Cut 4 pieces of parchment to 10cm x 8cm or to show how the measurement was made use the inner solid frame as a template to mark the parchment slightly bigger than the inner frame. It is a thin frame on the edge but doing this process will ensure a crisp finish to the project.

3

Swipe the parchment with the anti static bag. Stamp the swirls with the prefect medium ink and emboss with the arctic black aurora embossing powder.

4

Apply wonder tape around the 4 edges of the reverse of the outer frame.

5

Then place the parchment piece with the embossed side facing outwards. Complete on all 4 frames.

6

This is how it will look from the front.

7

Apply cosmic shimmer glue to the frame and attach the inner frame to this piece.

8

Complete this process on all 4 pieces and allow the glue to dry.

9

10  Now score down the 2 edges of the frame and parchment using the hook of the frame as starting point, see next step for a close up. This will allow the corners to stand outwards and give an accurate measurement to the project

10

11 Allows score from the same point on either the left or right hand side of the frame.

11

12 Complete the scoring and creasing the fold outwards on all 4 frames.

12

13 Apply tape or use a tape runner to stick the inside of the frame tab together with another frame. Make 2 lots of 2 frames stuck together.

13

14 Then stick both sets of frames together. Embellish the frame with gems on the outside.

Warning about this project : Please ensure care and supervision is used at all times when placing a tea light inside this project. Alternatively you can buy tea lights with a battery and a false flame for the same effect but they will be completely safe when using tea light cover.

14

15  The completed project is at the top of this worksheet.

16 A side angle of the project showing why the spellbinders dies are great , as they give you precise measurements every time.

Another super, super tutorial, Suzanne! How do you think of these projects?

What an unusual project Suzanne – and like Alice, I too would like to know how you think them up! I can think of lots of variations – especially for Christmas. Many thanks.

Thanks for the kind words – I have said I was inspired by a design on the Spellbinder site – but I had to change it a bit and used different materials – that`s all the fun in bringing a project to life

I try and think about making the most out of one die so that`s why I have so many projects using the mega rectangle die and now this frame, as I like many crafters want value for money and if you can make gifts out of your purchase than that`s a bonus

Making samples and workshops just keeps your brain thinking about ideas and if I get stuck I do look about

    Thanks again
    Suzanne
