Step by Step Instructions

First select a dress, rose frame & bell stamp for the Creative Expressions singles range. Also gather the Spellbinders radiant rectangles die set and some Cosmic Shimmer true white embossing powder.

1

 1

2 Trim a piece of parchment to 7¼” x 7¾”   Swipe it with an anti static bag. This is important especially when handling parchment as it will help to eliminate any moisture picked up from your fingers once the embossing powder is added.

22

3 Select the rose frame & place the stamp in your hand rather than adding it to an acrylic block, press the stamp into the clear & resist ink pad & stamp the rose part of the stamp around the edges of the parchment.

3 3

4 Now add the Cosmic Shimmer true white embossing powder over the clear resist ink. This will create a lovely soft effect to the parchment overlay.

4 4

5 Stamp the bell image onto a piece of antique gold card using the true white embossing powder & cut the bell shape out. Select a piece of Heartfelt Creations light backing paper.

5 56 Trim the backing paper to 8″ x 8 ½” & distress the edges of the paper by adding some gold from the Adirondack dabber.

6 6

7 Apply some of the Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue to the reverse side of the parchment. Make sure you keep within the white embossed areas.

7 7

8 Mat the backing paper onto a base card made from the antique gold card before adding the parchment panel over the prepared backing paper.

8 8

9 Turn the card over once you have it in the correct position & push down over the card to ensure a nice firm adhesion to the parchment as you need all the edges stuck down.

99

10 Add some double sided adhesive sheet to a small piece of parchment. Secure the small filigree frame to the piece before just cutting the frame. Also cut the next size up curved edge die shape in just parchment.

1010

11 Don`t emboss the filigree frame as this can crack the adhesive backing, but do emboss the plain frame.

1111

12 Remove the backing off the filigree frame.

1212

13 Place the panel in a shallow tub & tip the micro beads over the adhesive side of the parchment. Press the beads into the sticky sheet to make sure they have all stuck.

1313

14 Add the gold paint around the edges of both panels before adding the plain panel onto the card using a piece of foam tape for dimension. Keep the tape down the centre as this will be covered by the dress.

1414

15 Now place the micro bead panel over the parchment, again using foam tape down the centre.

1515

16 Stamp another bell onto the gold card using the true white embossing powder & this time just cut out the top of the bow area.

1616

17 Curve the bell edges around the closed blades of a pair of scissors. Add the bell to the corner of the card using some 3d glue or foam pads. Then add the cut out bow using 3d glue for dimension.

1717

18 Add some of the Creative Expressions blending solution into its own lid. Take a small bit of the gold gilding wax out of the pot by going around the out edge of the pot with the end of a paint brush.

1818

19 Place the wax into its lid or another small dish & tip a little of the blending fluid. Work the paint brush over the wax to break it down into a paintable medium.

1919

20 Now go into the card areas of the bell trying to leave the embossed lines free of paint. Add the wax to as much as the bell as you wish & buff off any wax left on the white embossed lines.

2020

21 Stamp & emboss the dress image onto a piece of parchment. Use the clear & resist ink and emboss using the true white embossing powder.

2121

22 The bottom stamped image shows how the Cosmic Shimmer flake & glitter glue will react on the single layer of parchment. So add some adhesive backing to the reverse of the dress & add to another piece of parchment ( shown to the left).

2222

23 Cut the dress around the outline of the embossed line. Add the flake and glitter glue to the inner parchment areas. Leave a short while to allow the glue to go sticky before adding the distress clear dry glitter.

2323

24 Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of parchment & emboss in a gold embossing powder. Cut the sentiment out using the oval die shape. Add with the glue to the left hand side of the oval as this will be covered by the dress.

2424

25 Add some faux Cosmic Shimmer pearl glue dots to the corner of the card to add detail to the piece.

2525

26 Use 3d glue to add the dress to the micro bead panel. Place a small bow with a pearl in the centre to finish the look.

2626

27 Add the adhesive pearl swirl just above the sentiment to embellish the card.

2727

28 Lastly add a pearl embellishment to the centre of the bell.

2828

29 So here is the finished card. The different textures have been built up using the dry glitter on parchment as well as the micro beads. The soft feel of the card is enhanced by the stamped overlay of parchment. So just some different ideas that can be built it your projects. Sometimes it`s just nice to think outside the box and see what you come up with. In the end it`s only a few bits of card or parchment but you`ll have fun trying.

Just gorgeous! I have been asked to make a wedding card and this has given me a couple of ideas I can “pinch”. Many thanks. Caved in and bought a couple of Sue Wilson’s new dies from the Spanish collection – arrived yesterday from Joanna Sheen – very pretty. Hope to use them tomorrow on a birthday card. Hope you have a good week-end. X

    • Suzanne says:

Thanks for the kind words and I`m so pleased it has given you some inspiration for the wedding card. Often a blank piece of card is hard to plan and build, but start building on textures and it does help. I`m with you on the Spanish dies as they are the 1st ones I`m collecting. You to have a great weekend ~ Suzanne

Just loved this project and had to attempt it. I am really pleased with the result using what I have in my stash.
